Wang Lijun, deputy Mayor of Chongqing off work because of severe discomfort

Chongqing Government Information Office announced today, Wang Lijun (王立军), deputy Mayor of Chongqing, has suffered from emotional tension and severe discomfort after long-term overload of work. He is receiving treatment for now.

Wang has been stripped of his police chief duties and reassigned to a mixed portfolio that includes education and the environment. He was representative of 14th, 16th CPC National Congress, and representative of the 11th National People’s Congress.

The U.S. Embassy Beijing Press Secretary Richard Buangan was asked on Twitter for the incident last night, and he refused to comment.

重庆市政府新闻办上午发布,重庆副市长王立军因长期超负荷工作,精神高度紧张,身体严重不适,经同意现正在接受休假式的治疗。
