The fourth meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress closed at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the afternoon of the 10th. Chairman Li Zhanshu presided over the meeting.
A total of 170 members of the Standing Committee attended the meeting and the number of attendees met the quorum.
The meeting voted to pass the resolution of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on comprehensively strengthening the ecological environment protection and promoting the fight against pollution. The resolution pointed out that the construction of ecological civilization is related to the sustainable development of the Chinese nation and the well-being of hundreds of millions of Chinese people. The nation must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, especially Xi Jinping’s ‘s thought of ecological civilization, adhere to the party’s leadership over ecological civilization construction, establish and improve the most stringent and strict ecological environmental protection legal system, and vigorously promote the effective implementation of comprehensive environmental protection legal system, extensively mobilize the people to actively participate in ecological environmental protection work, lay a good job in the battle against pollution, and strive to build a well-off society in an all-round way and build a strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist modern power.
Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Wang Chen, Cao Jianming, Zhang Chunxian, Shen Yueyue, Ji Bingxuan, Arken Imirbaki, Wan Exiang, Chen Yu, Wang Dongming, Padma Choling, Ding Zhongli, Hao Mingjin, Cai Dafeng, Wu Weihua Secretary-General Yang Zhenwu attended the meeting.
State Councilor Zhao Kezhi, President of the Supreme People’s Court Zhou Qiang, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate Zhang Jun, head of the State Supervision Commission, member of the National People’s Congress Special Committee, head of the Standing Committee of the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and chief officials in charge of Standing Committee of people’s congresses in some deputy provincial cities, some NPC deputies, and the heads of relevant departments attended the meeting.
